It's that time! Get excited and...
come join us for Open Studio this Saturday, May 18th from 12-3pm. Bring materials, whatever they may be...dancing shoes, instrument, pen and paper, paints and canvas, recycled materials, camera...we always have some fun stuff to share too. Snacks too!
Open Studio is a community of artists and creatives of all kinds and all ages who create together. Everyone is welcome...invite your friends, kids, neighbors, enemies, etc.

There is no cost and no need to RSVP.
All that is required is a willingness to contribute to the safe and encouraging creative time and space for your fellow artists and creative types!

capturing thoughts and experiences.

people - who are curious about finding buried stories and want to experiment
with this enriching process.

people - who value words, stories, time alone, and connecting for the purpose
of finding deeper meaning.
What?
Mining
With a Feather retreats derive
from understanding language as a gift unique to human beings and a powerful way
to connect to others. The stories we
carry, often unawares, set the trajectory of what our future is meant to
accomplish. The retreats offer
participants tools and instruction to excavate unspoken words and unexplored stories. Gathering fragmented memories and impressions
propels participants toward healing and joy.
The
writing is not about grammar, punctuation, criticism or self-improvement.
The
theme of this retreat is Beginnings. We will explore this theme through a Word Harvest. During the two days of guided writing, we
will attend to words that bubble up and
nurture them into sentences and stories.
Participants will examine, question and explore fledgling thoughts and
ideas in the context of stories.
Why?
We
live in a culture where everyone’s talking.
Mining With a Feather
retreats are for listening, reflecting and discovering. Writers’ natural voices are encouraged and
supported. Participants are nudged
further along the path their souls yearn to go.
Writing
creates a watershed, a release, an avenue through which our deepest humanity
can flow. When we write from those deep
places we give voice to the human condition.
